It is always hard to pick locations to stay at in other countries because ultimately you never know what to expect. I was indecisive about both la Fortuna and Monteverde but decided to stick with Monteverde as many people were recommending it. It was stunning and authentic. We felt safe and thought that there was much to do. Two days was definitely not enough to fully explore but it was enough to get the feel of what Monteverde is like in a short amount of time. More Monteverde Information:
Food in Monteverde: Make sure you get an Airbnb or hotel with breakfast included because you will save yourself a bunch of time and money. However, do not worry if you canât find one with breakfast included. There are many places to eat in Monteverde. Especially near the âCentroâ. You will find many bakeries, shops, and restaurants.
âThe Open kitchen â was delicious. We would definitely recommend it to all of our friends and family. The service was exceptional and the food exceeded our expectations. We had to come back the next day to try other meals on the menu because it was that good.
Taxi in Monteverde: It is super easy to get around in Monteverde. It is very affordable and everything Is approximately 5-15 minutes away from each other. There is a taxi street in the Centro at Monteverde. If you have trouble locating the taxi station, ask a local or police officer and they will happily re-direct you.
Is Monteverde safe? Monteverde is a small town in Costa Rica. The people who live here all know each other very well. We walked around freely during the day and late at night and we felt extremely comfortable. the only thing I will say is that the roads are horrible so if you rent a car make sure you drive cautiously. If you decide to walk everywhere carry an intense light with you to signal the drivers that there is a human walking the streets.
Other Excursions in Monteverde we wanted to do but just didnât have time for:
I have attached all of the links to the excursions in Monteverde as well as the Airbnb. We loved our Airbnb in Monteverde. it was a small owned, cabin-like spot. They served us homemade breakfast each morning and they even had a few hiking spots near their Airbnb. I hope you enjoy this itinerary as much as we did, with love, Lovelylivelyalexis.
