One Night Layover In London

London has always been on my bucket list, so I was excited to have the opportunity to see it recently during a one-night layover. It is a beautiful place filled with many historical sites. If you ever get the opportunity to have a layover, take it! Do not miss the chance to explore a new location. If you come across a flight that takes longer to reach your final destination due to a layover, don’t fret. It is absolutely the best thing ever. You get to experience a place in exchange for a free flight to that location. If you have to pay an extra $200 to stop for a day or a few hours to explore, do it! I promise it’s worth it and will save you a lot of money in the long run, while also relieving the urge to visit those places in the future. For me, there weren’t many things to do in London other than sightseeing. Since we had a layover at night, I decided, “Why not explore and get the experience of visiting London?” I will be sharing my itinerary with you below. Getting the most out of a day is always my top priority. I hope you enjoy this one-day itinerary as much as we did.

MORNING:

🚕Taxi Airport Transfer to Hotel

🏨Hotel check-in at London Heathrow Marriott Hotel

AFTERNOON:

🍝Lunch at Coppa Club

🚶London Famous Walk:

  1. Tower Bridge (right in front of Coppa Club Restaurant)

Take a right near the clear domes and walk all the way down until you see the long staircase that will take you above London Bridge.

  1. London Bridge

  2. London Eye

  3. Big Ben

  4. 10 Downing Street

  5. Buckingham Palace

EVENING:

🚙 Uber to hotel

OTHER:

Other dinner spots that are highly rated in London (we did not try them because we were exhausted):

What to know before visiting London:

  • Stay with your partner or group, and take other normal travel safety precautions.

  • People can be rude, especially to Americans, so be aware.

  • Make sure you pack a portable charger and a universal adapter.

  • Cars drive on the left, so be careful when crossing the streets.

  • Do not wear uncomfortable shoes because the distances between places can be very long, and you will be walking a lot.

Overall thoughts:

One-day adventures in London are definitely doable. I was content with my one day in London, and so were the people I traveled with. We were able to visit some very beautiful historical places and enjoy a delicious meal near Tower Bridge. One day is more than enough if you are like me and prefer beaches and sand.

I also want to add that if I had not had the chance to stop in London for a day, I would still have had the urge to plan a trip to London in the future. I am glad I experienced some of London’s offerings, but London did not exceed my expectations, so I have no strong desire to go back. However, we all like different things, so if you enjoy visiting historical buildings, London has much to offer you.

I enjoyed our one day in London, and I wouldn’t change a thing. I hope you enjoyed reading my blog, and if you get the chance to stop in London for a day, comment down below and share your thoughts. Until next time, Lovelylivelyalexis.
