One of the things I love about Mykonos is that it’s tiny, it’s so small that it can easily be explored in a day or two. It is such a perfect Island. It is filled with extraordinary sceneries & the culture is something you don’t want to miss in this lifetime.
ORNIRO BAR RESTAURANT:
YOU HAVE TO STOP AT ORNIRO! Although not a stop on our itinerary, we met some local people who told us, “not only are the views extraordinary, their food is out of this world.” I 100% recommend this place. It is a cute semi-fancy place near Mykonos Town. We had dinner here and shopped at Mykonos Town right after.
Questions:
What should I wear?
I would say the attire is formal-casual.
Is it expensive?
This restaurant is highly affordable. Each plate was less than 30 USD dollars.
Do you have to make reservations?
Yes, you need to call ahead of time and make reservations, especially if you want a perfect seat facing the beautiful sunset. I would recommend that you make the reservations weeks in advance.
MYKONOS WINDMILLS:
The famous windmills in Mykonos, The name “Kato Mili” means “the mills down below” and they were near the port of Alefkandra, while the name “Pano Mili” means “the mills high up” and they are on a hill at the edge of Mykonos’ main town, overlooking the entire side of the island in a stunning, panoramic view.
Questions:
Does it get busy?
Luckily, when my husband & I visited Mykonos it wasn’t crowded. However, I have heard and read that it tends to get busy in the month of June and July. The best month to visit Mykonos is September.
Is it best to visit day or night?
I personally loved the daytime because we were able to fully explore the entire town, surrounding these beautiful windmills.
What is there to do around the windmills?
Shopping!
Grab a bite of ice-cream
Many restaurants
Clubs
How many hours should I spend here?
I would say plan to spend around four hours in Mykonos town. That gives you enough time to explore. You will definitely want to shop, eat, take pictures, and relax!
what should I wear?
You can wear anything. I wore a romper with some short heels. I would recommend wearing tennis shoes as they’re many rocks. If you plan to party in the town at night, dress like you would if you were going out with friends.
SAILBOAT TO TILOS ISLAND:
The day we arrived at our hotel we were given a handful of excursion options. The one that truly caught our attention was this sailboat ride. To this day, this is still my favorite memory, my favorite day, and my favorite trip. When we arrived at Tilos Island, I could not believe my eyes. I have never seen such clear water. I was able to see everything underneath us while standing on the boat. I have a huge phobia of the ocean, but, surprisingly, I jumped in with no fear and even swam to land. It was such a surreal experience. 10/10 recommendation.

Book at Tropicana hotel
What was the Price?
$200 per person

My husband and I wanted to enjoy a relaxation day for our last full day on Mykonos and decided to book a last-minute yoga session. It was so relaxing and worth it. I will be doing this again the next time we visit the island.
PLAYA DEL MAR PRIVATE YOGA SESSION:
My husband and I wanted to enjoy a relaxation day for our last full day on Mykonos and decided to book a last-minute yoga session. It was so relaxing and worth it. I will be doing this again the next time we visit the island.
Price?
$100 per person
What is included?
A 1 hour and 30-minute session, a private beach all to ourselves, and yoga mats
What do I wear?
Wear something that allows you to move around and won’t make you sweat too much. I made the biggest mistake by packing full-length leggings instead of short leggings.
I was not able to find the exact link, but if you look on Trip Advisor there are many options for private yoga sessions.
Note: the link below is not for a private yoga session. It links to a group session with breathtaking views.
DON'T MISS OUT ON BEACHES!
If you are traveling to Mykonos, Greece, then you are definitely looking to enjoy the clear blue ocean. You will not be disappointed in Mykonos. Here are a few beaches that I hope you enjoy visiting because I sure did:
Paradise Beach: Paradise Beach is for individuals who love to party and enjoy the nightlife. There is a club called “Paradise Beach Club” that my husband and I decided to stop at on our last night. We were able to rent chairs for a few hours and enjoyed the view. Later that night, we went out and had a few drinks and danced the night away.
Paraga Beach: OUR FAVORITE BEACH!! This beach was so peaceful. You can rent lounge chairs and an umbrella, and servers will bring you drinks and food. No kids are allowed, and as it is not a popular beach, it won’t feel crowded. We ended up spending a whole day at this beach because it was so relaxing and the weather was perfect. I definitely recommend spending a few hours here. You won’t regret it.
Kalo Livadi: This beach was so beautiful. It was not peaceful, but it was still fun and memorable. There were families with their kids, so if you are looking for a family beach, this is the one for you. The lounge chair rentals are a bit pricey and you have to pay for them hourly. My husband and I decided to sit on the sand, and the experience was just as amazing.
Until next time, LovelyLivelyAlexis.
